Paternity Leave for Govt. Employees

The Kerala Government has sanctioned [vide Order No. Fin(Rules-B) (P) 342/11 dated 11.8.2011] paternity leave of 10 days to all its employees in service, for the occasion of child delivery by their wife. The leave is available for the first two deliveries alone. Each delivery would entitle the employee for 10 days leave. It can be availed either 10 days before the expected delivery date or anytime within three months after the delivery of the child, on submission of doctor certified application. The employee would get wages as provided for aided leave, during the paternity leave. This benefit has come into force with retrospective effect from
26th Feb 2011.
